Solaium, the new single and videoclip by Swunk Infusion is available on Youtube and in digital download from January 9th.

Solaium marks the return of Swunk Infusion in two years since their first work, and anticipates the release of their second album, Soundscapes, whose release is expected next spring for Apogeo Records.

“The word Solaium - as explained by the band – came into our minds after a little talk about how advertising investments related festivals and musical events have been reduced during last years preferring, instead, entrust all the promotion on social networks, leading people to define every little thing an EVENT. Thinking about that, we worked about association of words, like Wedding Concert, Concert Solaium…Solaium Event!
Soon after, we started playing the song, and the mood that came from that made us think about the working class and their lives made of simple things just as building an attic, rather than posting on social networks. A completely different world compared to modern digital era, where everybody wants to appear posting selfies on the web and comment every single topic.
We started from these ideas to develop the videoclip, a contrast between our globalized society, locked in a social post, and the life of a skater, or of a simple worker.

The groove of the song, in the first part, has a bouncy appeal, with a melodic cell repated as a group of bricklayers who cooperate in establishing the section B, which has a samba mood, and is more introspective than the first part. In section C there is the disintegration and expulsion from the previous sections. With this section we keep distance from the shape and the smooth texture of the song, where, in fact, we have included twenty second of pure improvisation”.

The videoclip, shot with Creative Common, has been directed by Neapolitan videomaker Daniele Rosselli, whose works are inspired by the relationship between our persona and the society that we live in.

Swunk Infusion is a musical project born in 2012, when Antonio Cece (guitar) and Saverio Giugliano (sax) meet each other with the purpose of turn images and colours of their lives into music. Daniele De Santo (bass) and Marco Fazzari (drums) added a precious rhythm section that binds perfectly with the songs.
The word Swunk stands for the union between swing and funk, something dirty and not really defined; Infusion indicates the desire of the band to merge several genres proposing something fresh and new.
Their debut album, Swunk Infusion, was released in May 2014 under Apogeo Records, a Neapolitan record company that allows them to perform around the country during that year. The release of the second album is expected next spring.
